FAQs

How Does it Work?

Next Bat Up currently offers a flexible Rental Program through its website, designed to help players find the right bat with confidence.

The Rental Program

  • You can rent a bat for 30 days, with rental costs ranging from $35, and $75 depending on the bat you choose. The rental cost is non-refundable. When you are ready to end the rental, email Orders@nextbatup.com before the end of the 30-day rental period letting us know you are ready to return the bat, and we will email you a return label. There is no limit to how many months you can rent a bat.
  • If you love the bat you rented and want to keep it, you can! Just call 337-330-2837 or email Orders@nextbatup.com, and we’ll provide a buyout price. The amount you paid for the rental will be credited toward the purchase price of the bat. Once you approve the price, we’ll walk you through the next steps to make it yours.

What is an Ideal Youth Bat?

Choosing the correct bat for your child is vitally important. Here are several key factors to consider:

  • Length: The bat’s length should be appropriate for your child’s height, weight, and strength. A bat that is too short or too long can negatively affect their swing.
  • Weight: The bat should allow your child to swing effortlessly. A bat that is too heavy will slow their swing, while a bat that is too light can reduce the power behind their hits.
  • Grip: The bat’s grip should provide ample cushioning to absorb impact and prevent slipping during the swing.
  • Material: Baseball bats are made from various materials, such as aluminum and composite. Each material has pros and cons, so consider what best fits your child’s needs.
  • League Regulations: Be aware of the differing rules and regulations regarding the type of bats allowed in your child’s league. There will likely be specific requirements for the type and size of bats permitted.

How Large a Selection of Bats are Available at Next Bat Up?

We expect to have over 500 bats available once all lines are made available to us.

Why Aren’t All Bats Available for Purchase?

While we strive to carry the best and most popular bats, we may not always be able to reach agreements with all brands. Additionally, there may be supply restrictions based on inventory.

Why Aren’t All Bats Available for Rent or Purchase?

Some bats may not be available for rent or purchase due to availability, inventory, and cost factors.

What kind of Bats do you rent, and sell?

We are currently authorized dealers for Easton, Rawlings, Louisville, DeMarini, and Mizuno. We are continually looking to add more brands. Based on inventory, demand, manufacturers’ supply, and restrictions, not all bats will be available for rent or purchase. Please browse our website for the latest selections.

*Currently we do not sell Louisville or DeMarini bats online due to manufacturer’s restrictions

What Do I Need to do to Rent a Bat?

To rent or demo a bat, you’ll need to register for a new account on www.NextBatUp.com and provide a credit card with a valid mailing address. Please note that P.O. Boxes are not accepted.

Can I Rent More than One Bat?

Yes. You can rent up to two bats at one time. Please be aware that if you try to rent more than two bats, your order will be delayed because although our system will allow you to check out with more than one bat, the order will be flagged and stopped and one of our staff members will have to reach out to you.

If you have a group or team order that you would like to make, please contact us by email or phone.

What Happens if the Rented Bat gets Dented, Cracked or Breaks during the Rental Period?

If the bat is dented, cracked, or broken while hitting baseballs, you can contact us and we will email you a return shipping label to ship the bat back to us and we will ship you an exact same bat (if in stock).

If the bat is dented, cracked, or broken while not hitting baseballs, you are responsible for the full value of the bat.

What happens if the Purchased Bat is Dented, Cracked or Broken?

Once purchased, the bat will be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

*Please see the bat manufacturer’s warranty policy.

Once I am Finished with the Bat Rental, How do I End the Rental and Return the Bat?

Once you are finished with the bat rental, please email us and we will email you a return shipping label, at our cost. We highly recommend you save and use the box that the bat was shipped in to ship the bat back to us. If you do not have the box that the bat was shipped in, you can find similar boxes at UPS, Fedex, or similar stores.

What Happens if My Rental Payment Fails or Becomes Overdue?

If your credit card on file is declined and your account becomes past due, you have three options:

1. Return the bat – Contact us to receive a prepaid return shipping label.

2. Buy the bat – Reach out to us via phone or email and we’ll provide a buyout price (your rental fee will be credited toward the purchase).

3. Continue renting – Update your account with a valid payment method to bring your rental current and keep the bat.

Please note: If your rental account is more than 30 days past due and you have not made arrangements, your account may be sent to collections and you will no longer be allowed to rent any future bats from Next Bat Up.
